Illinois Model 1, Miller grade, mfg. 1875

Illinois Miller grade - 18 size, model 1, 15 fine jewels, key-wind and key-set, adjusted to temperature and isochronism with "Adjusted" engraved on the balance bridge, expansion balance, in a coin silver case. Mfg. circa 1875. William B. Miller, was the first secretary of the Illinois Watch Co. and a prominent hardware merchant in Springfield. Note: Miller grade movements were also available unadjusted at a slightly lower price, the difference being the cost of labor for adjustment.
